Julian Stephen Suhrer, MD, enjoys helping his patients find solutions for all their women’s health concerns. Dr. Suhrer is an experienced OB/GYN who has been a valued member of the Florida Woman Care of Jacksonville team, with two locations in Jacksonville, Florida, for many years.
After growing up in Jacksonville, Dr. Suhrer chose to attend Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated cum laude with a degree in chemistry and went on to the University of Florida College of Medicine in gainesville. Dr. Suhrer soon focused his attention on the field of obstetrics and gynecology. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville, serving as administrative chief resident.
Dr. Suhrer later entered private practice in Jacksonville for eight years. He also practiced in Kentucky for several years but felt drawn back to his hometown. He returned to Jacksonville in 1989 and once again became one of the area’s most trusted OB/GYNs.
During his many years as a practicing physician, Dr. Suhrer has gathered a long list of certifications and professional credentials. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Suhrer is also a member of the Florida Medical Association and the Duval County Medical Society. In his practice, Dr. Suhrer focuses on patient education. He works tirelessly to provide patients with up-to-date medical information and advises patients on contraception and family planning. Dr. Suhrer also specializes in treating menstrual irregularities, incontinence, menopausal symptoms and women’s wellness with emphasis on prevention.
When not working with patients, Dr. Suhrer enjoys hiking, swimming, and spending time with his family. He also has a keen interest in the fields of history and astronomy.
