About Kristen Witkowski, MD
Dr. Witkowski is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics in Gynecology. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. honors degree in Biology. She completed both her medical school and residency in Chicago at University of Illinois at Chicago and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, respectively. After missing her family, who all moved to Florida, and digging her car out of snow for the 1000th time, she decided her future was in Florida.
She knew she wanted to be a doctor but was uncertain about her specialty until the first day of her Ob/Gyn rotation as a medical student. “I remember going home and knowing, with more certainty than I had never felt before, that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.” She enjoys all aspects of the specialty, but her favorite part is the relationships she builds with her patients. “It is important to me that patients feel listened to, understood, and respected.”
Dr. Witkowski manages low risk and high-risk pregnancies in addition to the scope of gynecologic issues such as contraception, abnormal bleeding, management of abnormal pap smears, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, bladder pain, and menopausal symptoms. She performs surgery, including office procedures and minimally invasive procedures. She feels incredibly lucky to have found an office so devoted to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care for women.
