About Maria Alejandra Diaz, MD
Maria Alejandra Diaz, MD, is an experienced OB/GYN with the team at Advanced Women’s Health Specialists, located in Altamonte, Deltona, and Lake Mary, Florida. She joins the practice with a passionate commitment to patient care, substantial experience practicing OB/GYN, and excellent training. Her impressive credentials and work ethic will enhance the care of patients with a wide range of health care needs, from routine health screenings to the most complex cases of minimally invasive robotic surgery and high-risk pregnancies.
Dr. Diaz completed her training at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, an institution nationally recognized for its specialty services related to women’s health and outstanding educational programs. After residency, Dr. Diaz had a successful practice in the Clermont, Florida, area before deciding to relocate to Seminole County to be closer to family.
Dr. Diaz was born in Bogota, Colombia, and moved with her family to Naples, Florida, when she was 11 years old. Her love for science and her aspiration to serve ultimately led her to seek a career in medicine. Her deep interest in and concern for issues related to women’s health made the field of obstetrics and gynecology a natural fit.
Though OB/GYN is a time-intensive specialty, Dr. Diaz does enjoy spending the free time she has with family, traveling, and working on personal fitness.
