Paula Snead RN, CNM, MSM is a seasoned nurse-midwife who has had the honor of serving women in her community of Northern VA for the past 21+ years.
She started her nursing journey in Labor and Delivery in 1992 after graduating from the University of Connecticut. In 1998, she relocated to the Washington DC area. A couple of years later, when she was pregnant with her first child, she had the epiphany to return to school to become a nurse-midwife so she could help empower women through childbirth. She obtained a certificate in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier University and received a Master of Science from Philadelphia University in 2003, just before the birth of her second child. She helped found a hospital-based, midwife owned and operated practice in her community and leaves a legacy of 1000’s of babies behind her as she travels to the Gulf Coast of Florida with her husband, Irvin, and children to settle into their new home.
Her work passions include serving women of all ages throughout the years, including women from all cultures and walks of life. She is blessed that her calling allows her to participate in the miracle of birth almost daily. In her free time, she and Irvin enjoy life on the water paddleboarding, kayaking, and playing at the beach with their children. They also enjoy training in their home gym and are avid bicyclists. In addition, she assistant coaches with her husband in youth sports such as basketball and football.
She is elated to join Swor Women’s Care to continue empowering women and families in the Sarasota Community.
