Shantel is from the plains of Colorado but has always considered Florida her “home.” She visited her step-grandmother yearly while growing up and instantly fell in love with the state, never wanting to leave. Florida is where her heart is.
Shantel has always been intrigued by pregnancy and babies. For as long as she can remember, midwifery has been her passion. She first attended Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she obtained her Associate’s degree in nursing. Later, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of West Florida. She has been a nurse for over 15 years in various specialties, but the majority of her time has been spent as a labor and delivery nurse. Shantel then completed her Master’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery (APRN/CNM) at Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky.
Shantel is blessed with a husband and three beautiful children. The things she loves most are God, her family, and the beach. In her free time, Shantel enjoys the outdoors, live music, traveling, and anything that involves making memories with her family. She is passionate about giving back to the community through volunteering and serving others. Everything she does is for His glory!
Her goal as a provider is to be “approachable.” She believes there needs to be more kindness in the world. Her passion is educating women, supporting physiologic birth, and being there for women during their most vulnerable times. She is enthusiastic about delivering precious miracles and never wants her patients to feel alone. She is grateful to be part of the Emerald Coast OBGYN family and to offer exceptional care to the women of Bay County and the surrounding areas.
