Sharlene Liburd, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at The Women’s Center, which has locations in Orlando, St. Cloud, Altamonte Springs, Oviedo, Ocoee, Winter Park, and Celebration, Florida. She currently sees patients at the practice’s offices in Altamonte Springs.
Sharlene earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida International University in 2000. She began her nursing career in South Florida before relocating to Orlando in 2004. Her nursing career led to Orlando Health, where she worked as a registered nurse for 16 years in the labor and delivery units at Winnie Palmer Hospital and also held a leadership position.
Her experience at Winnie Palmer Hospital and her drive to make a difference in patients’ lives nurtured a passion for furthering her education. Sharlene continued her education at Chamberlain University, completing her Master of Science in Nursing.
Prevention and health promotion were a few of the motivating factors for Sharlene’s further education and continues to be a driving force in her career. She endeavors to continuously provide the necessary counseling and education to motivate patients through various aspects of their health care. Services she provides patients include screening exams, preconception care, prenatal care, and postpartum care. Sharlene strives to improve health and enrich patients’ lives by assessing any issue or condition related to obstetrics and gynecology.
Sharlene brings over 20 years of nursing experience to The Women’s Center and is continuously exploring new avenues to enhance her knowledge. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In her free time, she enjoys music, movies, the beach, and spending quality time with family and friends.
