Stephen G. Smith, M.D. began his medical practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Panama City in 1989 with privileges at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center. He has delivered over 5000 babies in the past 30 years of continuous medical practice with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Smith received the “Frist Humanitarian Award” in 2011 from Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center for his interests in the problems of opiate addiction in pregnancy.
Dr. Smith received a B.S Degree in Biology from Florida State University in Tallahassee, a M.D. degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and OB/GYN specialty training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr Smith is specialty skilled in gynecologic DaVinci robotic surgery. He is a current member of The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologist.
Dr. Smith grew up in Panama City and is a graduate of Bay High School, Class of 1977. He was a member of 1976 Bay High Tornado State Championship football team. Dr. Smith and his wife are married 34 years and they have 7 children. They are active members of Grace Presbyterian Church. Together they completed thirteen “Ironman Florida” events in Panama City Beach and also the 2014 Ironman World Championship event in Kona Hawaii.
